Mbappé Misses Again, Real Madrid Suffers Defeat

Mbappé’s Struggles Continue as Real Madrid Falls to Athletic Bilbao

Kylian Mbappé is undoubtedly experiencing one of the toughest moments of his career, facing greater challenges than expected in his initial months with Real Madrid.

In the 19th round of La Liga against Athletic Bilbao, Real Madrid’s No. 9 stepped up to take a penalty, hoping to redeem himself after a recent miss against Liverpool.

However, the outcome was another missed penalty – his second in just one week – contributing to Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat and leaving them four points behind Barcelona in the league standings.

The match at Bilbao’s home ground saw a goalless first half, but the hosts took the lead in the 53rd minute through Berenguer.

Mbappé’s penalty miss in the 63rd minute added to the tension, but Jude Bellingham equalized in the 78th minute to make it 1-1. Unfortunately for Madrid, Guruzeta’s goal in the 80th minute secured the win for Bilbao, sealing a 2-1 victory.

Real Madrid now faces increased pressure as they look to regain momentum and close the gap at the top of the table.
