Heavy Rain in Durrës Causes Traffic Disruptions – Police Urges Caution
Durrës has experienced continuous rain throughout the afternoon today, which has caused significant disruptions to traffic and pedestrians on the city’s streets. As a result of the bad weather, which includes heavy rain and snow in some mountainous areas, the State Police has issued a warning for increased caution among vehicle and motorcycle drivers.
Through an official post on their page, the State Police called on drivers to be more careful, to adhere to road signs, and to reduce speed due to the wet conditions and the presence of water on some road segments.
For driving on roadways in mountainous areas where snow is falling, the police recommended that drivers equip their vehicles with snow chains and winter tires.
“All drivers of vehicles and motorcycles should follow the instructions of the Road Police services. As of now, no roads are blocked. Meanwhile, emergency teams have been activated in all directorates and are in contact with local authorities, contractor companies, and civil emergencies,” said the police announcement.
In case of emergencies, citizens are urged to call the free emergency number 112, and the police services will respond immediately.
