PHOTO: Car Driven by Safet Bajri’s Girlfriend Used to Help Fatbardh Lici’s Killers Escape

Eria Ago, a former beauty queen and owner of a boutique on “Myslym Shyri” street in Tirana, has been arrested five days after the detention of her partner, Safet Bajri. The Special Court has ordered her into custody on charges of facilitating a murder and aiding the perpetrators. Authorities suspect that Ago helped the killers of Fatbardh Lici escape the crime scene by car in the moments following the assassination in Kiras, Shkodër.

On Wednesday evening, journalist Klodiana Lala’s investigative TV program “Në Shënjestër” shed new light on Ago’s role in the 2018 incident that escalated a deadly feud between the Lici and Bajri families.

Today, investigators released a photo of the black Mercedes Benz allegedly used during the escape. According to the SPAK (Special Anti-Corruption Structure) case file, the car—spotted near the murder scene shortly after the crime—is believed to have been driven by Eria Ago, who is identified as the girlfriend of Safet Bajri, a well-known figure with a criminal record.

SPAK’s investigative file reveals that following the killing of Fatbardh Lici, Eria Ago allegedly picked up Astmer Bilali, one of the suspected accomplices, and drove him from Shkodër to Tirana. Meanwhile, Safet Bajri reportedly remained in Shkodër.

“The murder of Fatbardh Lici occurred around 7:00 AM, and a phone conversation took place approximately 20 minutes later,” the SPAK file states. “During this time, a black Mercedes Benz with license plate AA 989 TE—spotted at the crime scene—was being driven by E.A. [Eria Ago]. This call confirms that Astmer Bilali was in the company of Safet Rustemi (Bajri) and was speaking with Safet’s girlfriend.”

The file further indicates that the suspects were traveling together at the time and that another vehicle, also driven by E.A., was used to facilitate the escape.

The arrest of Eria Ago adds a new dimension to the investigation, which continues to uncover the complex web of relationships and actions that led to the fatal shooting of Fatbardh Lici. Authorities are expected to conduct further interrogations and examine communications between all individuals involved.
