Haxhi Thaçi, the father of former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has passed away.
According to local media reports, Haxhi Thaçi died just moments ago at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK), where he had been receiving intensive medical treatment due to a serious health condition.
Over the past several days, Haxhi Thaçi’s condition had deteriorated significantly, leading to his hospitalization at QKUK’s internal medicine clinic. He had been under close medical supervision, and despite the efforts of doctors, his health continued to decline. Hashim Thaçi, currently facing legal proceedings at The Hague, was able to visit his father in recent days, spending time with him during what would become his final moments.
Haxhi Thaçi was a respected figure in his community, known for his humility and strong family values. His death marks a moment of deep sorrow for the Thaçi family and all those close to them.
Condolences have begun pouring in from political leaders, public figures, and citizens across Kosovo and beyond, expressing their sympathy and support for the former president and his loved ones during this difficult time.
